Why did you decide to work for Tyco Fire & Security? Tyco is a great organization with international scope, $40b in annual revenue, a strong balance sheet and excellent people. During my MBA studies at University of Florida, I was looking to pursue my career in the global environment where I could best utilize my knowledge and skills. I was extremely impressed with Tyco’s “Cinderella story” and its magnificent turn around after Ed Breen came aboard. After I had visited the facility here in Boca, met all the individuals leading the TFS, and had seen the Six Sigma spirit around, I was sure that it was a place where I belonged. Please explain your experience at TFS thus far and what you have learned? My expectations of TFS were fully met in terms of both the company’s scale and culture. I am a part of a great, ethical, completely reborn organization which is operating in a very interesting industry. The team and culture are terrific. The open door policy ensures that your questions are always answered and your concerns are mitigated. TFS provides us with so many initiatives; one can never be bored or feel left out. Working for the planning and analysis group has given me an outstanding opportunity to learn about TFS businesses, its strategy and operations and allowed me to meet a lot of exceptional individuals from all over the world. What role do you plan to have at TFS in five years? I hope one day that I will be able to move to one of the divisions of TFS and implement effectively the company’s strategic goals and objectives on the operational level. I know I still have a long way to go and much to learn about the business, but one day I would like to be a part of it, and have a “real” impact on crafting the strategy. |
