Tyco Fire & Security helps protect thousands of sports events every year.
In 2003, that includes Rugby World Cup games at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, Australia.
Suncorp Stadium is Brisbane's premier sporting venue, and has been getting a US$280,000,000 makeover befitting its status.
As a result of the major redevelopment project, the stadium boasts the latest in electronic security from Tyco Fire & Security. The state-of-the-art, integrated system consists of 136 cameras monitoring the stadium, bus-way and plaza areas, which will be controlled and monitored on-site.
In recent years, CCTV has proven to be highly effective in deterring crime and antisocial behavior at sports events, where emotions often run high. The monitoring allows early detection of potential trouble, so personnel can work closely with police to ensure crowd safety without unnecessary intrusion.
The new Suncorp Stadium is the home of the Brisbane Broncos and will host State of the Origin games, as well as a number of world-class events. That includes 9 games of the Rugby World Cup 2003, where the Tyco Fire & Security system will help protect a total of 472,500 fans.
Proof that in sports, as in many other types of business, you can rely on Tyco Fire & Security when it counts.
